As I walked around the rebranded "Columbia Waterfront District" aka Red Hook, waiting for a friend for dinner, I took some pictures to pass the time.
What is it about urban desolation that makes me so happy?

It must be you... last time I tried to take pictures down there I got yelled at by a security guard and, being foreign, I feared being arrested and whisked off to Guantanamo. So I put my camera away. What are one's rights when taking pictures of "National Security Installations" (which are apparently at MARSEC 2: http://www.uscg.mil/safetylevels/whatismarsec.asp)? Can I be arrested for taking pictures while standing on public land? As a foreigner, I suspect it might not be bright. And I am not about to test my "rights" (or lack thereof).
